Best 3 Wheel Pushchairs

All-terrain pushchair that provides light weight and excellent maneuverability. Its compact one-hand fold means it's easy to transport and also freestanding when folded. The padded seat reclines to a near-flat position and there's a giant storage bin and canopy. The suitability for newborns is yes with an additional carrycot.

Air-filled tyres and a good suspension can handle rough terrain. You can also use it to jog. But, you should wait until the baby is at least 6 or 9 months old.

Ickle Bubba Air

This light pushchair made by Ickle Bubba has a lot of features that parents will appreciate. It comes as a travel system, which includes a lie-flat carrycot for infants, a multi-position forward and rear facing pushchair, and a choice of a car seat, so you can get everything in one package.

The XL Air is a really impressive vehicle and it's simple to see why it's received so many high marks from customers. It's incredibly light - both the wheels and chassis weigh just 6.5kg - and it's also super-easy to build. In fact I was able to get the whole thing up and running in less than five minutes, which is pretty amazing given that it included the tying of the fabric to the carrycot!

It has a nice wide, comfortable seat that was comfortable for Annie (who is 12 months old) and the recline lever is very simple to use. The basket has plenty of space, and I find it nice that the handle bar has pockets to keep your phone and keys secure.

The handlebar is a bit low, which could be a problem for parents who are taller. It's covered in a soft, comfortable leather-like material, and is easy to clean.

Hauck Pushchair Runner

The Runner is for parents who enjoy exploring and are always on the go. Its large pneumatic wheels were designed to be used on field and forest paths, and the front wheel can be swivelled and locked to give you more flexibility. The stroller also comes with a 5-point safety harness with an adjustable front bar that will keep your child safe during all journeys. The parking brake will keep the stroller on its feet as you take a break. The seat can be repositioned to lay down and the canopy can be opened to allow for maximum air circulation during hot days. The handle can be adjusted by more than 30cm, to fit mum or dad.

If you're planning short jogs or a longer hike The Runner will be there to accompany you on your journeys with a fully-flat lie-flat seat and suspension air wheels that guarantee a bump-free ride. The front wheel can be locked to provide greater stability on narrow streets or crowded sidewalks. The stroller can also fold in order to fit into car boot spaces or storage areas.

The Runner 2 is a bit more difficult to navigate for some parents than its predecessor. Additionally, the locking system (requiring two buttons on either side of the handlebar) is less user-friendly. The handlebar is higher than some competitors which means it might not work for smaller parents however, overall it's a sturdy and versatile stroller worth considering for active families.

Red Kite Push Me Pace

The Pace is a great option from Red Kite, an affordable British brand that prides itself on making simple and well-designed parenting essentials. It's the newest and most expensive product in their bargain-priced lightweight stroller range and as with the Ickle Bubba Aurora and Yoyo it's car seat-compatible so you can use it from the beginning (the carrycot folds away).

The new Pace boasts some fantastic design elements, like a rose gold tint to the chassis, hood and stroller trims to really set it apart from its competitors. The stroller and car seat fabrics are stylish in tan, grey, and cream.  Push Chairs & Prams  can also choose to add the handle in leather and the bumper bar to complement.

The stroller seat can be used from birth to a maximum weight of 22kg. It easily converts to a two-in-one reversible position, either facing the parent or world-facing. The stroller seat comes with multiple lying positions, a comfortable padded leg rests and has an extendable sun canopy with hidden zip sections, a transparent flaps, and an adjustable sun visor.

Furthermore, when folded it's Pace measures up at 56 x 43 x 32cm which is enough to qualify as hand luggage with Easyjet and Ryanair among others. It's also simple to fold, thanks to two buttons on either side of the handlebar that you can click into and then pop out.

Bugaboo Fox 5

Bugaboo's Fox 5 is designed to be the ultimate, all-terrain stroller. Its unique chassis features a shorter wheel distance, making it more manoeuvrable than its predecessor. I tried it out with my two children - a toddler and an eight-week old - across rocky pavements, grassy woodland walks and even cobblestones.

The large puncture-proof wheels - either 22cm or a bit larger they can be used on various terrains. The wheels come with a flap that can be shut or opened to let air in when required. It's a bit bigger than some pushchairs, but it isn't heavy or bulky when pushing it across bumpy surfaces.

The seat fabric is machine washable, as are the frame and faux leather grips are easy to wipe down. It's also quieter than other pushchairs and I was comfortable in the urban streets. It has integrated accessory points that allow you to attach parasols and footmuffs along with changing bags or snack trays, and even snack trays. The hood can be used to block out rain and wind, however it's not waterproof. The single pram is able to be fitted with the Comfort Wheeled board (not included) that gives your child more legroom. It took about 20 minutes to assemble the bassinet, and the same amount of time to convert it into the seat.

UPPAbaby Ridge

No matter if you're enjoying a morning jog under the stars or a moonlit walk in the cool air, the UPPAbaby Ridge turns every moment into a shared one. This all-terrain stroller was designed to keep both you and your child engaged.

The huge 12" and 16" foam-filled tires offer a smooth ride, no matter the terrain. The suspension is patented, allowing you to glide over paths in the woods with less impact on your child's legs as well as rear. The handbrake that is designed for performance allows you to stop quickly even while jogging down the downhill slope.

From bustling market stalls to street musicians singing, the Ridge can navigate all your city's most popular scenes effortlessly. The large basket is able to hold everything you need and market purchases, while the large canopy offers sun and wind protection. The canopy on the front can be opened to reveal two mesh peekaboos that permit you to watch your baby.

The Ridge's reversible seating allows you to decide if your child is facing you or the world that lies ahead and its simple foot brake system is intuitive for new parents. One of the best features is the reversible handlebar, which allows you to adjust it to your height and preference. And unlike some jogging strollers the Ridge folds reliable and stays self-standing while folded.

iCandy Core

The new pushchair from iCandy is truly revolutionary and has a lot of features that are going to wow parents. It comes with a multi-mode wheelbase and an LED Visibility Hub light that is the first of its kind in the market. It also has an integrated Ride-on Board, which saves on future costs and makes it easier for an exhausted toddler to join you on family outings.

The Core is available as a travel system or a single seat. It is compatible with the most popular car seats, such as the ones from Cybex Maxi Cosi Joie. It has the largest seat unit of the iCandy line, meaning you can use it to help your baby's start and beyond. It's a beautifully constructed pushchair, and it is made of premium knitted fabric. The handlebar that parents can adjust and the child's bumper bar that can be detached are made from soft leatherette, while the folded calf support can be extremely comfortable for children.

I was impressed with the ease of fold and collapse. It only takes one hand with the seat unit attached. It is easily tucked away in your hallway or boot and is ideal for travel. The iCandy Core comes with lots of additional accessories, including a rucksack with a color match and a liner/footmuff.
